Brake failure

As I was hauling a trailer load of logs this afternoon with my 47 8N. I discovered that the right brake stopped working. No reaction at all even If I stand on the brake lever. Left one works fine, both worked fine yesterday, lots of shoe left (I adjusted them a month or so ago). Any ideas as to the problem an/or fix. I hate to take it out of service as I am cutting wood every day.
Thanks
Al

Hate to tell you this but it sounds like the seal started leaking.

If the seal is leaking should I see some evidence of that on the garage floor? No "spots" or drips so far, everything looks normal.

Not necessarily. Mine leaked enough to affect the brakes but had no visible leakage. If the felt seal around the brake backing plate is in good shape, it could take awhile to absorb enough fluid to leak. Others have posted that they have leakage visible at the backing plate or in some cases at the outside of the hub. Leakage at the hub usually indicates hub/axle problems.
Hope this helps.
