Sorry, had a senior moment... How the heck do I put the small pictures in here? Thanks!!Ok, off topic, but I did promise. Some time ago I mentioned that I was reworking the barn/shop. Putting in cabinet bases with drawers and shelves to make it more organized and easier to find anything. Someone had ask for me to post picture when I got it done, so ,, here it is. Project if 99% finished. The before picture shows you what I started with and the after picture shows you what we got now to work with. Still need to put some sort of sealer on the fronts. On top of the cabinet bases I put on 5/8 in plywood, and on top of that Formica that I had in the attic. I did not glue the Formica but rather used short roofing type looking nails. It is easier to remove when it gets torn up and we know it will get torn up. To finish off the front edge, I used inside corner metal like you would put up if you were putting up sheet rock. Used the air stapler to tack it down. Keep in mind, this is for working on, not for your wife's kitchen, so it is going to get abused and torn up over time. Tip on cutting the Formica, I used a fine tooth saw blade in the skill saw , like you would use for plywood to make a smooth cut. Cut slow and it will work fine. I found the cabinet bases at a local ware house type place that sells almost anything you can think up to redo kitchen, carpet, paint, what ever. We got a heck of deal on the bases as they are all unfinished and damage of some sort. Maybe a loose drawer, or chipped front or cracked back. Took me maybe half a day to get them all usable. I had to put shelves in a couple of them, the longer ones to make two level storage. The rest of them we put in slide out drawer type things behind the door. The sides on the lower drawers we had made are low, to allow for taller stuff to stack or what ever. The one the saw is sitting on will get a vacuum in it to catch the saw dust along with anything related to the saw or cutting. Need to get my Dad's drill press over here, and that about does it for me. The big ugly white cabinet we had down there in that area, we moved to the other end of shop and it will have any thing mechanical in it. Wrenches, sockets, oil, other associated tools for working on cars, mower, tractor what ever. That way, one end is for wood working or building and the other for mechanical type work. So, now I got room to work on anything and one of the first is getting that ole JD tractor running. Needs a Carburetor, battery tune up and one tire . The carb is the hard part, still available, but sort of hard to find. May have to use one from a governed engine and rig up throttle and choke to match the ole set up for a tractor. So,, there you go!!!
All I can saw now is PLEASE send rain!!! I got out and water the entire 1/2 yard around the house, just in case some of the stupid people in the area decide to shoot off fireworks, in spite of the ban..
