What oil is in there?? The Manufacturer's recommended 90-wt oil or the newfangled thin stuff? Put the 90 wt in there, it might solve ur problem without putting wrench on it! Henry Ford (or hin engineers) recommended the 90 wt stuff when these were new, and it is still the proper fluid 4 this system! If not, Zane is the Hydraulics Guru here on the board! Good luck!! And Happy NY!

I assume that you are saying that when you use your lift it is weak. Is this correct? Remove the round cover on the right side that has the dipstick in it. Lift an implement. Look inside with a light and see if you see oil leaking from the top. If you do then your top cylinder needs rebuilt. If it is not leaking look through the same inspection hole down into the fluid below the PTO shaft and see if you see a lot of swirling in the fluid. If you do, then the relief valve is stuck or broken. Hope this helps.

Do as Tom says but don't stick your hand or anything else in there when the tractor is running.
