Do any of you fill your front tires with liquid? I have a '48 8N that is REALLY light in the front.

One of our neighbors did this to add weight to his new Ferguson 30 back in the 1950s. It was somewhat common to add weight this way. Virtually all of us in the neighborhood had fluid in our rear tires in those days with no problems because our tubes were new. They begin to leak when they get older and it is not uncommon at all to see rear tractor tires 20-30 years old. I have a 1964 model 2000 Ford with an excellent original B.F. Goodrich rear tire--now 41 years old. Wish I had another one! Mike-Iowa

I filled the fronts on my '50 using windshield washer fluid. Don't remember exactly, but I think it added about 35 pounds to the 6.00x16 tires (each). Seemed to help when skidding logs w/ boom pole.

i had a problem with flat tires on the front because land clearing and that nature so i had the local tire shop fill them with foam that added about 40 lbs of weight to each tire or there about and no more flats but it cost around $75.00 per tire
