oscer..... ...yer right, according to the Sherman aux gearbox speed charts, the 8N in 4th and OD, at full throttle (2200 rpms), the roadspeed is a teeth bareing blazing 23.12mph. (it only seems faster) Keep yer mouth closed and you won't haffta pick the buggs outta yer teeth. (grin)

1st and UD is 1.32mph at 1000 rpms
2nd and UD is 1.57mph at 1000 rpms
standrd 1st is 1.85mph at 1000 rpms
3rd and UD is 2.16mph at 1000 rpms
standrd 2nd is 2.37mph at 1000 rpms and here it comes finally..... .
1st and OD is 2.76mph at 1000 rpms
PS.....4th and OD is 10.19mph at 1000rpms

UnderDrive is already the INVERSE of OverDrive.
So iff'n you'd somehow inversed the Sherman, the underdrive would become overdrive.

Must be early spring 'cuz every springtime we gitt questions about why you can't use Sherman UnderDrive and RotoTillers. And the answer is always the same. The N-Tractor is just too HI-SPEED for rototilling, but just the right speed for 2-bottom plowing. (after all, that is what they were designed for)..... ...respectfully, Dell

Sounds like you have the OD only Sherman. Quite common.
