Hobo I thought that the IH 100 came with the one point fast hitch?????

It was not very sucessful though because it tended to just sort of lay over when the one row planter touched the ground when it got a little age on it and the hitch linkage got a little sloppy.

I worked five years at the local IH dealership too but never got very attached to the IH tractors. To me they were behind the times with there hitches or lack of there of.

When a Ford came in the shop I always took it and gave the other guys the IHs if possible. I was the working shop forman. You know the buck stops here. (There). Nearly starved to death!
55 hours a week for $80 and this was in about 1968 or there bouts.
Oh the agony of de feet!

I like the 100 it痴 a cultivating machine. I think the planter will werk with the fast hitch and that will let me put sum fertilizer under the corn. Gonna try it I do not like the way it werks with the N. try and git a pix of the set up tomorrow of the 3 point set up I now use.

Ho, the wings are not needed since they just knock back the trash and the furrow. Personally I prefer the furrow so I can hill when the plants come up. Looks like you have a shaft drive so you would need a cw and a ccw plate. We have a few old cole plates, what are going to plant?

Its has a small corn plate and I have not removed the utter plate. Gotta confess I wuz talkin to the fellow who sent me the pix of the one I posted and tell段n him the plate wuz to big for the small corn I wuz plant段n so I removed the left plate that side I have not used and it said small corn I be I never looked at it. I have been use段n only the right side cuzz it layed to much seed down when I tried弾m both The utter plate izz bigger and I will take a look tomorrow to see what it izz. I知 learn段n the hard way and will figger it out. I plant butter beans, peas, corn, okra. I started out small and now plant close to acre so I gotta figger the planter out. Corn izz what I plant the most and wonder段n if you only use one side of the planter with corn or both.

If you use the right gear you would use both plates for a better stand. Some of our old guys put corn in one and corn field beans in the other. Talk about good eating come picking time. I'll look at work Tue and see what we have left.

Looks like mine, except that mine has been converted to a 3-point hitch. I can't say how it would operate w/o wings, as mine has them. Try Lowery's tractor, 804.862.1140, Petersburg VA. (Actually, in Dinwiddie, just off I-81 at exit 61) I got my plates there and he had quite a selection. I don't know if he does mail order or not. Worth a phone call to find out. Might be worth a trip; he has a lot of old N parts as well as tractors for sale (not cheap) and another dealer down the road has plenty of implements. Plus, the Agri-Supply store is on the other side of town. I seem to recall you're in NC; if you are around Weldon, you wouldn't be more than 60 miles from Petersburg.
