If its a front mount dist. you probably fried your coil. Them coils don't like to have the key left on and will burn up easy if you do that. Also if its been converted to 12 volts you could also have burned up a resister.

My 8n is a side mount distributer and 6 volt. Could it still be the coil? I pull the ciol wire from the cap and I get a nice blue arc when I turn it over. It seems to spit and sputter but wont run very long. I have plenty of fuel at the carb and eventualy it floods. Any more ideas?

You could also have a bad cap or rotor, not as likely as it would have been a coil but side mount coils don't burn out very often and since you have spark its even less likely. What color is the spark. Is it a nice brite blue or its is sort of yellow. If its yellow you probably burned your points and or condenser.

My spark from the ciol wire is nice bright blue. I have changed the points and condenser. I will change the plugs but they are only about 2 months old? Any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

In that case I would guess you have a bad cap and or rotor. If your where its been wet the cap will cause you all sorts of problem could have a small crack in the cap and its shorting out your spark. Theres an easy way to check it but it hurts like ^%$#. Hold on to the cap and try to start the engine. If you get the $#@! zapped out of you well you have found the probelm

Of course its easier to just replace the cap and rotor then you don't need to feel the ZAP

I had a similar problem, it was a bad condensor. You mentioned that you changed yours. Spark plugs might be fouled up some. try some new ones and maybe put that old condensor in. new one defective?
