I plan to plow up an area for a garden this year. I have a 2N tractor. I know that they were used with the deerborne back then. But what I am looking at at the dealer is a single bottom plow. Do you think this will work well with the 2N.
Thanks..

perky..... ...yer 2N was designed to pull a 2-bottom plow, usually 14" bottoms ...or... 16" 1-bottom plow. Bettcha yer tractor store's 1-bottom plow is a skinny 12" cat-0 plow designed/sold for modern wannna-be tractors. Yeah, with adaptors, you can mount a cat-0 plow on yer 2N's cat-1 3-point and pullett. But it'll take some real adjusting to gittchur 1-bottom plow furrow spaced correctly so yer front & rear tires ride in the bottom of the plow furrow.

Enny cat-1 3-point 14" 2-bottom plow will fit yer 2N. About $500 new; about $250 used..... ..Dell

Used neighbor's cat 1 1 bottom plow the first year we were here -- never did figure out how to get the thing to work right as to furrow spacing. The next year, got a 14' 2 bottom Dearborn and it works great -- priced right too -- friend said he couldn't sell it cause it was his pappy's, but he never used it, so take it and keep it as long as you want it!!! I've used it for 3 years now and store it in my leanto behind the barn.
