Hello, I was hoping someone could help. I just purchased a 8N w/brush hog, 3pt. scoop, and two extra tires for the rear for 600.00. I already got it up and running(points were bad) it runs great since I cleaned the carb out really good. My questions were: what is the correct paint colors for this tracor, I have seen different colors for it online and want the right colors, and is there any way I can hook up rear remote hydraulic QD's for a log splitter I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Eric

Thank you all for the help. I really appreciate it. I am going to get the paint next week. As for the pump, I have one that I am going to try to hook up to the p.t.o. Again Thank you all.
(And yes I know I practically stole the tractor, but that is what he said he wanted fo it, and you know how that goes, I am very happy!)

As for the colors, I prefer a bright red. On the wheels, fenders, hood etc., I think that Tisco Ford Medium Gray is the perfect shade but it's whatever YOU like, really. Pete

OR you could get a PTO pump that slides on the PTO shaft. Then your hydraulic lines would be right at the back close to your log splitter. You wouldn't even need QDs since the PTO pump slides right off the splines and could stay with the splitter. The PTO pumps can be expensive but move at least five times as much oil as the internal pump on an 8N.

Your N won't run a splitter without working itself to death. Even a Ford 3000 won't run a splitter well. Plenty of power but way too slow. My son and I built this splitter and put a 3pt deal on it so we could move it either way. It works great. All you need for your 3pt model is a motor, pump and tank. You'll be good to go (and happier).

the colors would be a gray hood and fenders with a red underbelly,, as far as hooking up a log splitter with QD i would say no, there is not enuff power in the pump to operate a splitter, but you could run a seperate pump off the front pulley like they do for the loaders, pat

You must be doing something right. Just the attachments alone would be worth $600. If the N is in somewhat decent shape, it's probably worth a couple thou at least. Paint colors are a common question here and if you went to the archives and searched a bit, you could find them. Can't help much with the other question. JMHO...Ron

red belly(motor-rearend red) black seat, grayishish fenders, grayish hood. You would have to find a hydraulic pump , maybe from a loader to run a spliter. Tisco makes the right colors.
