I am in the process of repainting my 8n and plan to use the rustoleum sunrise red. Is there any type of hardener that can be used with this paint? any help is appreciated.

Hey Bare:

Not sure if Rustoleum is alkyd or acrylic base paint(check the ingredients list on the can), but you can use the same hardener in either. It does cut down the cure-time of the paint & makes it dry a little glossier. Without hardener alkyd paint will dry but stay soft for about a month, with hardener it takes about 8 hrs to full cure.

Take care, though, hardeners cause SEVERE respiratory problems in some folks.

Jeff

I used Rustoleum on my 2N, and I added a splash of Boiled Linseed Oil... I brushed the cast, and sprayed the sheetmetal. The linseed oil really seems to help flow out the finish.

Does it make the paint harder? Beats me, but it sure seems to give the paint good manners.

I agree, you probably don't need it. If you want it though check their site. For some reason I think I've seen it on there. Could be wrong.

I dont think you need hardner with rustoleum. I painted plenty with rustoleum, never with hardner.
