I did forget about the dropping resistor for the coil. As far as the flasher, the Model A ford
clubs here in California have used this scheme for
years. You can discuss it, shoot down the theory, but the fact is it just works. I have 3 Model A's and 2 tractors, an 8N and a 9N. The 8N still doesn't have an alternator, but soon. The SI10 alternator is a GM type. Rebuilt should be about $29.00. Change the pulley to use the wide belt.

I have this circuit on my Model A Fords. I drive these cars between 25 to 50 miles per day. I have 6 acres to plant grapes and use my 9N all the time.

P.S. the flasher continues to click (or flash) and has no effect on the operation.

I have been kicking around the idea of finding a Model A pickup truck. I live about 5 miles from work, and thought it would be cool to get a model A as a daily driver.

Is this feasable? My biggest concern is about the brakes being good enough for even a slow stop. Can this be overcome....

Just thinking. I seem to like old stuff.

Take Care
Steve
