I bought a single bottom plow the other day and wanted to know if anyone knows anything about it. The tag says Ferguson Sherman Mfg. Co. The mould board is slats, not solid. The tag says it is Type 16A and the serial # is 3362. I know the 16A indicates a 16" plow but I'd like to know if anyone has any idea about the year it was manufactured? I plan on using it with my 1944 2N. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If the center main beam has holes in it like the outer braces for the 3 point hitch drawbar it is a 1939, if just the outer braces have the holes then it is a 1940 since it is a lower serial# than a 1941 would have.

The center beam does have holes so it must be a 1939. Thanks for the info.

Randy, sounds like you bought a single bottom 16". George and Eber Sherman split with Harry Ferguson in 1941 and the Ferguson Sherman Mfg Co. became Harry Ferguson Inc. so your plow was made before 1941 and with a 3362 ser number I would say 1939. Ford made these plows or made part of these plows and bought the parts they did not make and sold them to Ferguson Sherman. Word was, they made almost as many plows as tractors. Does you plow have the Ford script cast in the front of the beam. I have a two bottom 12" (Ferguson Sherman) that has this.....Kelly.

Thanks for the info. Mine does not have the Ford script. I have taken it apart and I'm in the process of "de-rusting" it. One of the slats/ribs is missing so I'll have to try to find one or just make one from 1/4 in flat stock.
