Back from the depths !

The 8N ("Maureen" - pro.: "MO-REEN")survived her ordeal in the pond muck. My wife is half Sioux and names everything, the dogs even have middle names for crying out loud.

Anyhow, ordered and received in 2 days!!!! - from this fine site, new exhaust, manifold to exhaust clamp & tune up kit. First put on exhaust to restore what I had before the mess. Runs, but poorly, pops every few revolutions, and I suspect the points (Front mount distributor), but have run out of time to work on her today. Throttle increase equals - rpm increase and popping increase. Almost has to be electrical and I suppose all I am looking for is reassurance that the tune-up kit will probably fix it this weekend.

All of this happened on a perfectly timed schedule (certainly not my doing) -- where she sat last Friday is under 8 feet of water!

Thanks in advance -- RuintTX (Wichita Falls, TX)

Glad to hear she's on the road to recovery!

How 'bout that rain! Both our dogs ran around in it barking, I think they forgot what it was.

We got a little over an inch at the farm(near Paris), what about you?

Jeff

My place in Bonham got about 1 1/2" and was sorely needed.

You got way more than us. Sat.a.m. we got less than a tenth. Hoping for this weekends' forecast to be right -- t-storms coming.

I hope you drained and replaced all fluids before you started your tractor. Also pull the plugs and put some auto trans fluid in each cylinderjust wondering-Bill

Wow. If she sat in 8' of water, it might really be "ruint"..I don't even know where I would start as I think all the bearings and gears are at risk. Do you have a plan for cleaning up the entrals yet?..... Ron

You missed the five day saga. The pond was dry at the time, was trying to remove reeds (cattails): before the irrigation water was turned back on. TX is in a heck of a drought and I was trying to take advantage of the dry (I thought) conditions.

Anyhow - no water damage. None there at the time./////

I've been following the saga of the dry pond and still didn't make a connection. I miss understood when you said there was 8' of water where the tractor had sat. I can blame it on "senioritus" I guess...Ron
