Hi all, After bringing home my first 9n, I started to go down the list of things to check.(this lists archives have been a BIG help) A rebuild will be in the works but things are running well(some oil burning). When changing the engine oil I found that the oil pickup tube was a little loose. I can move it up/down from the drain hole an inch or so. Is that normal or do I have some loose parts. I've been pushing some snow around and have one heck of a clean driveway. Thanks

I just got done replacing my oil pickup tube. It broke off and got picked up by the crank. That's a bad thing. You should definitely fix it asap. There's already very little clearance between the pickup tube and the crank. An inch play at the drain hole is probably more than enough to cause a collision. Just my opinion and experience.

Dave, What is the correct Part # for the Pickup tube assembly 9N? and is it a "one piece". I tried to Solder mine, tight but?? would seem better if welded.

thanks,

I'm not sure of the correct part number. I ended up getting one via the YT classifieds. I'm sure someone here will chime in with the part no.
