How can oil get into the cooling system on the 8n?

Well.. Oil could get in thru a cracked block. Whoever.. lots of people have bad heads / head gaskets and that lets in combustion byproducts over the years, and those will form an oily sheen on the water too...

If you have a bit of oily crud int he water.. but no water in the oil.. that's when you change the head gasket and 'watch' it. if you atre getting water into the oil.. you may wnat to investigate faster and pressure test the cooling system.. etc..
