Need to replace the driveshaft in the governor assembly. After removing the linkage and the 2 gov. housing bolts, will I need any tools other than a screwdriver to remove the assembly and replace the driveshaft? Thanks for the help.

If you are replacing the main shaft that is in the gov you will find that the front gear is pressed on. I ususally set stuff like that on my big bench vice and drive the shaft out with a brass hammer/brass drift.
I've rebuilt 2 governors and both of them when the gear comes off I founds small divits in the shaft. The new shafts were too loose with the old drive gear (for a press fit) and I used an old machinist trick and used a center punch and punched a number of new divits into the shaft equally spaced around the shaft and pressed the gear back on. Look at the IT manual and there is a measurement from like the back of the plate with 4 holes and a keeper on the shaft, it's in the neighborhood of a quarter inch. The one I took apart that would never work (govern) was not even close. Don't know how it got that way but it probably did not need rebuilding. I rebuilt it and set the distance exact and it works like a champ.

Also check the bushings on the 2 levers that connect to the carburetor and the throttle. I figured out that I should have replaced those bushings after I rebuilt mine.
