I appreciate everybody"s responses to my brush hog research. I am now wondering if and where I could find at least a pair of front wheel weights for the old Ford 851..? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Pat

Original front wheel weights for vintage Fords are becomming hard to find and expensive. I have seen prices as high as $100 for a single weight (1/2 of 1 wheel).

Though I have not myself checked, I have been told that these weights are still being cast by Taylor Foundry. I have no contact information for Taylor but perhaps someone else does.

Look around at a few tractor dealers and or slavage yards. You also might think about filling the front tires with fluid, that will add 100lbs or so to the front. If you have a bumper up front you also might find some suit case weights.

Thanks for the response! Just wondering from an inexperienced and recent tractor owner what "Suit case weights" are?

Thats sort of hard to explain. There weights that will hook over a bar etc and are about 12 inchs by 18 inchs and weigh around 85-100 lbs each. I use 6 of them on my back blade to hepl hold the rear end down but with a heavy loader like I have that the only way to go
