Maybe somebody could lead me in the right direction to find a short in my system that blows a 30A fuse within one second after I start my 2N. I tried to trace wiring looking for a grounded or touching wires but saw nothing. Would it be in the distributor or suggest looking somewhere else first??? Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

Don't know where you are using 30 amp fuse, but it it is blowing, then you need to trace the wires from the fuse as that will be the circuit that is shorted out. I suspect that fuse may be in a circuit you are using for lights. If so disconnect your lights and check inside each housing to see if something is grounding out internally.

Had it been working, then just started this? Or had you replaced parts or worked on it, then this started happening??

Is this a 6v or 12v? If it's a 12v, what kind of ALT & resistor set-up are you using? Points or electronic ignition? You say it's a 2N, so I'm assuming it is a front mount distributor.

Where, in the circuit, is the fuse located?

If this is a 12-Volt conversion with a GOOD alternator, and the fuse is located between the alternator and the battery, the alternator, easily charging 60 Amps at startup would blow the fuse. That is why, normally there is not a fuse in the alternator-to-battery circuit. Automobiles use a "fusible link", sort of a slo-blo fuse, capable of carrying momentary overloads.

Or, is the fuse located on, or near the ignition or headlight switch?

Take a look at the diagrams at the link below, choose the one that is similar to the way your tractor is wired, and post back, giving a location of the fuse within the wiring!
