If you can't remember changing the plug wires or if you have radio wires change them now.

Get the good metal core kind for off road and solder the crimp on ends.

Your mileage may vary

you may need to run a plug with a different heat range. look in automotive book to see how plugs are fouled and decide if plugs are to hot or to cold.

You probably have worn rings that are causing fouling. Look at the plugs, are they black? Gooked up? If so that may be from the oil your burning as it slips by the rings. A sure way to tell would be a compression test. If you don't have a gauge you can sometimes rent one from an auto parts store or buy one for about $25. If compression is low, add a couple drops of oil to each cyl. as you recheck. If compression goes up a good bit then rings are worn.

Other things may cause fouled plugs. An over rich fuel mix will muck up plugs especially if you are only using the tractor in short spurts. Close the main adjustment knob then bring it out 2 1/2 turns. Also weak spark. Try a good tune up, it's much cheaper than a rebuild and will need doing anyway!

Good luck!

Those anti foulers have been around for more than 50 years that I know of. They do work for a while but you are just postponing what you will eventually will have to do.

I run Autolite 437s in my 8N. They are a hotter plug than the 216s. The antifoulers are available at NAPA. I think I paid about $1-$2 each for mine.
