Thought you might like to hear aobut my project this past weekend.

This weekend I built a stone sled/boat to pull behind my 8N. It has 4x4 runners and 2x planks spaced a couple of inches appart for a floor, the front is a section of angle iron bolted on with a
hole in the center for a clevis to pull it.

This set up works wonderful to move water mellon size stones. I plase the sled by the old stone hedge and roll (not lift) the stones onto it then pull it about a half mile to a bend in the brook that I am building up to keep it from washing out. This is almost too easy. Only about 30 more trips to go...and it is fun to build up the bank with the stones.

I am still amazed at how much the 8N can do and how easy it seems to do it all. It would be nice to have a back-hoe for some things but with a bit of thought and by taking some time the N does well, plus it is a lot less expensive on my wallet.

Sal, You are not puting those stones in the stream, You are just storing them on the bank for use in a future project. I know from what I speak.

I use an old car trunk lid with a chain, works will but I loose some rocks once in a while. I thought about building an accutual one like yours but put a 3-point on it to dump with.
