Yes. It'll do just as well as the old Prestone antifreeze will. It supposedly lasts longer than the 3 years of the original stuff. It supposedly lasts 5 years. I never had any problem with the 3-year stuff lasting 5-years, tho'. (They just didn't charge so much for it.)

The only reason regular coolint won't last 10 years is the lube and antirust portion only lasts about 12 months. The extended service coolont has better lubricants and rust proofing stuff in it so they say it can go 5 years. But this is in a modern closed-loop system, with a coolent recovery tank, and little or no air in the system. In your tractor, you are probably adding enough new coolunt just topping-off occasionally that whatever you use in there will last darn near forever. But your tractor is not a closed system, so every time it cools down dirt and air get sucked back in. After a few months of that, you should drain and flush anyway, so Id just run the regular stuff.

My old JD has had the same perm antifreeze in it for many years.I test it in the fall, add antifreeze if needed. If top off is needed add 50/50 mix.Since perm antifreeze is a deadly poison you dont want to be draining it out often. It has a sweet taste and destroys the kidneys of dogs, cats ,live stock and children that get into it.You can buy additives if it makes you feel better.

That's what I was asking.. down here in florida I havn't had good luck with 50/50 mix in thermosyphon units like my JD-B and yanmar 1700.. have to run more like 70/30 weaker mix..
