2N Hot tub?!

Hi all,

If my 1942 2N has a value of , say, $2,500, how much does my installation of a new clutch (pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, new ring gear, throwout bearing, rear seal as well...) add to it?

The cost of the parts, alone, was somewhere in the neighbourhood of $350 to $400...

You know how the real estate pros often say remodelling a kitchen will net you 80 per cent of what you spend when it comes time to sell, or adding a fireplace will return only 60 per cent...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Bonus points to anyone who can figure out how to mount a fireplace and a hot tub on my 2N... I'm gonna need photos... :-)

Cheers,
Paul

I just tried selling my 1949 8N in good running condition and overall an above average 8N for the third time on ebay. The machine has lots of new stuff but more notably it has an aux trans, ROPS, brand new tires, and front distributor. Easily $1000.00 worth of stuff. My reserve was $2600.00. I got 25 bids and they stopped at $2025.00. The tractor is worth exactly $2025.00 in Illinois. Save up for your hot tub and just keep the tractor, it seems most people want something for nothing.

I'm near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - and I keep forgetting that $2,500 (CDN) is about $475 (US) ;-)

I agree with Don.. you adding 350 of parts to your 2500 dolalr tractor made it worth about 2500 dollars...

JMHO....what you listed, it would add nothing. BUT if it wasn't done, it would subtract from your $2500. Using your real estate example, you gain minimally if you replace your roof or windows. There are certain things that are just expected.
JMHO....YMMV.....don t. .....
