I have 19" wheels on my 52 8n and am thinking about putting on 16" wheels. Can this be done without changing the wheel hubs?

Thanks,

Alex

16" wheels were optional on all 8N"s. All you need do is find a used pair or purchase new ones from most any N parts house.

16 and 19 inch 8N front wheels have the same bolt pattern. The hubs are fine.

Thanks..John

Someone on this forum said that they might have come off a '40's vintage Ford truck. Makes sense considering how Henry liked to share parts twixt his trucks and his tractors.

I would think that that would be an easy change.
6 bolt 6 inch bolt circle rims should not be hard to find. Many pickups use that size. Even my Datsun pickup uses 15" 6"x6 bolt hubs.

You might have clearance problems with some wheels. My 9n has 15" automotive style front wheels with hubs and brake drums to match...

if you can find a couple of wheels off a datsun, like a old 620 series pickup, those will be fine, they not only should fit, but their narrower than say a chevy's and the pre 77's even look similar to n wheels, i dont have a datsun anymore but i wore 2 of them out, it took over 200000 miles each to do it
