Took all the paint off today. Do you think this is ready for the acid bath? There are a few dings in the bottom and some nicks and pitting in the metal. Is there a quick solution to fixing that? Bondo? Looking for answers--thanks all!

I would say it is ready - great job! Remember - a LIGHT coating that wets the entire surface. Concentrate in cracks. On shiny metal, it tends to foam up, take my advise and use a paper towel to wipe this foam off while still wet. I usually get the paper towel wet with acid so as I am wiping the foam off it still leaves the area wet.

You could use Bondo, but that is hard to work with IMO. I have had good luck with glazing putty. It is a light putty that sets up and is sandable. You cannot use it to fill in big dents as it will crack when it dries if it is too thick. But it is great for filling in light pits and dents, just apply it with a putty knife then sand it flush with the rest of the metal once it dries.

Great work,
Dan
