Visited this guy yesterday, been watching him for about 2 years now. Absentee owner. I believe this is a 9N. It has I-beam radius rods and "Ferguson System" logo on the grill and a 3 speed tranny. I cant read the SS #. Tires still holding air. 1 newer rear rim. Oil levels full and look decent. Appears to have antifreeze in coolant and level is good. Has some newer looking radiator hoses and clamps. Has Sherman Transmission. I was not able to shift into any gears from neutral with the regular shifter, but the sherman can be moved easily. Note the brush hog to right of picture. Has a 6 foot blade attached to tractor and another implement of sorts (posted pic of this on the Implement Board yesterday) has what appears to be plumbing fittings welded on to both radius rods??? for some reason. Have pics of that too. Caretaker of property gave me permission to look and said owner hasn't been around in a few years, but I know where/how to contact him. The key was in ignition and there was a battery in the tractor, but figured I had best not try to turn it over. Gas tank half full and smelled like turpentine. OK--looking for feedback on what I have told you and if this can be bought what would a reasonable be to offer? Anything you might recommend I do to check it out further before making an offer would be appreciated as well. P.S. Wife has been questioning my sanity since I got hooked on the N's so I told her I was going to visit a neighbor about some mowing---went picure taking instead!!----Tim

I'd offer $500 if he threw in the extra grill..grin..Anything is repairable and parts are available. You could probably get twice that much even if you had to part it out...JMHO..Ron

If you can't run it to test hydraulics, transmission, steering, engine, radiator, etc. it is worth parts value nothing more.

Tim, that thing you put on the implement board is a front end loader. Davis western. It is laying upside down. I didn't see the channel frame works for mounting it to the tractor. I have one sitting out by the shop. Used it for many years.they are light weight loarders but is much easier to get on & off the tractor.

Rusty--does this part of the pic help you? Could this be part of the channel frame? There was another "collection" of assorted "metal items" that could be discarded parts as well but did not take any pics of the pile. I am going to post another pic of "something" that was half buried on the implement discussion board in a few minutes. Thanks for all so far!!

yep thas it!! It is resting on the frame for the hyd. resivour, the other end mounts to the lower three point bolts. It is also upside down. The way it mounts keeps those lower bolts leaking.

Randy-Thanks for the help---I posted another picture of "something" from the same farm on the Implement Alley site. If you have a minute see if you can tell what that is. Thanks again. Tim

Yeah, I'm with Empennage. I hardly know what to say. . . except . . . except.

Gads, it just fairly reeks of magic. Like there are shimmers of "what could be" like heat waves even in the photograph.

I'd better shut up, too. :-)

Dawn

My hearts beating faster.

I have the "devil" - "angel" thing going on right now...you know..."Tell him to get it"..."No, the poor guy, leave it alone don't get it".

I'm stepping away from the computer.....
