In reply to "let us help you"--here is the original grill I refinished. I never did anything like this and would never have done it the right way without this boards help. (Special thanks to Dan for your expertise) I am satisfied with the way it turned out, I think it looks much better than the repro that was on the tractor ---I know I need to do some alignment, but think it meets the 20/20 test! For your info, coming from a "New" Old Tractor owner, your willingness to help people like me has been nothing short of FANTASTIC. As an observation, I would agree that there is a lot of repetition of questions. For me, I dont mind as it re-inforces the info. Maybe some of the repetitious questions could be eliminated by checking out the archives---might take a little more time, but lots of good stuff there. Thanks again to All of you who contribute!!!! Got the fever for my 2nd N !!!!! Tim

Yeah, I had much the same kind of thoughts when I read that post, Tim. I sure worry that I ask not only things others have asked 100 times before, but that I MYSELF have asked 100 times before! LOL I think that sometimes it takes a while to learn enough to understand an ANSWER. Or even to figure out what the words in it mean. I would hate like sixty to make anyone on this forum feel I didn't get back to them on "what happened." On the other hand, sometimes er, um, well . . . there are times it might be kind of embarrassing to explain that you haven't tried something yet because you can't figure out how to do it, where the thing is that's under discussion, and/or how on EARTH anyone could ever possible *DO* whatever it is. LOL --Dawn, ALWAYS grateful to this forum, and simply ecstatic to finally, finally get my chance to restore an old 8N!!!!! ! (Wow. The dream of a lifetime!)

You do know that there is no cure for the N fever don"t you? Hope you have a good wife, or a big place to hide the tractors you acquire. It don"t hurt to have both. Mine has already notices them, and actually tells me where she sees them at.

Jim

It will more than pass the 20/20 test - that fit is much better than my 52 workhorse. Heck, it was so bad out of alignment I had to JB Weld a washer on one side just so the spring pin could grab something :-)

You done good - be proud! Now get out there and save another one.

Dan

I was going to say on the post below that it is much more fun to post a success story than a problem. I know without this board my tractor would probably be in pieces in the barn and I would have one unhappy wife asking why I wasted $1500, also why the fields are not mowed and the drive is not cleared, etc. She is a great woman.

Thanks to all! (again)
Scott
