Anyone used this before? Does it work well? Have to change anything on the implements?

Thanks,

Robert

I don't really recommend them. I bought one a few years back. And I quickly found out that not every implement would mount up to it.

The height that the top link pin is set above the bottom pins isn't consistent on all my stuff. So I ended up taking the quick hitch off and putting it back on sometimes when I switched implements.

I spent a fair amount of money having a guy modify my carry-all so it would mount up with the quick hitch.

Some things simply won't work with the quick hitch - Like my Ferguson plow. The lower link pins aren't parallel with each other, so the quick hitch won't mount up to it.

It was also a pain in the neck to not be able to use sway bars with my stuff. The quick hitch is set up so you can't use them.

I also found that stuff wouldn't settle down into the hitch easily. I frequently had to jump on the implement or drop it and lift it up a few times before I could lock it into place.

So now my quick hitch sits in a barn collecting dust. I gave up on the thing.

I'll sell it for $100 if anyone wants it. I'll even throw in all the adapters I bought.

Thanks for the replies. To be honest, I had seen someone singing the praises of these things on another forum and I just couldn't seem to understand why I would need it. It is a bit of a job to change implements but not that big of a deal. Ya'll confirmed that this would probably be a waste of money and surely not for me since I don't consider that I really have a problem in this area.

I recently bought one on SALE for $99. It did not come with the top link adapters for category 1 implements. Apparently category 1 implements are being manufactured to a much looser standard than category 2 and up. The quick hitch will pick up all of my implements. But the cast top link hook on the Quick Hitch would not match up with any of them. Even the Bush Hog top link would not accept the cast hook that came on the quick hitch.

I had to make an adapter myself to match the top link up to my cat.1 attachments.

So part of the usefulness is gone. I can hook up and drag my implements out into the yard but I still have to get off the tractor and put a pin in the top link before I can go to work.

One big advantage to the Quick Hitch is that it adds some weight to my grader blade so it stays on the ground better. I can run a little faster and still do a good job on the driveway.
