Brake Pedal Adjustments

The brakes on my 8N seem to work fine. However, the brake pedals need to be equalized(leveled). I understand this is done by adjusting the left brake rod clevis and will make it easier to apply both brakes at once. If I make this adjustment, will the actual brakes then need to be re-adjusted as well? There is almost a 3" height differnce in the pedals, left brake being lower. Thanks--Tim

The clevis will effect pedal height.

Good luck on adjusting it. When i adjusted my 660.. the threads were so rusty that it broke, and i had to buy a rod and weld new clevis ends on it, along with adding a threaded section as an adjuster.. So.. I reccomend you hit it with a wire brush to clean paint and debri from the threads.. then soak it with penetrating oil.. and if it is stuck.. a little heat.. and more oil..

No.. won't have to readjust brakes..

I just did mine. I just fiddled around with the brake adjustment until the pedals were the same. Not real critical on a tractor.
