Shoot, gotta love Texas weather. Just as well, can't do anything about it. first a drought for months and months, now rain!! Got good rain starting Friday evening late, all day Saturday and today , Sunday,, floods!!! All around the area of North Central Texas we got flooded fields, roads, and houses.

Here at the house South of Fort Worth, we saw the yards, all of them, completely covered in water. Have only seen that twice before here in 20 years we have been here. Tried to go to store for stuff, first route was blocked, flooded. Second way, same thing, tried a third and fourth. All flooded. Finally able to go bout 15 miles out of the way and got through. Saw flooded fields and swollen creeks all the way. But made it over and back no problem.

Course on TV they are showing video of all the idiots that tried the high water crossings and didn't make it.. Stupid, just plain stupid..

Oh well,, thanks to all of you for sending the rain!! :-) And I am NOT complaining at all, it will taper off tonite and end tomorrow.

Oh, rained so hard the satellite internet went out for awhile,, too much run off on the dish...

Here in Garland, just East of Dallas, we are at 14" and climbing for the weekend. I have had to empty the rain gauge twice, and it is almost full again. Since it has been raining all weekend, I took the opportunity to get out in the garage and re-arrainge my shop area. My wonderful wife (who is also an organization expert) helped me make use of almost every inch. Since my shop is one side of a two car garage, I need every inch of space I can get. I am almost ready to start on another tractor now :-)

At least the rain is finally here, the lakes are filling back up again.

so does that curb the fire situation for now in northern and central texas? their keeping us here at home right now, lincoln county nm, hasnt had even 1/10 inch of moisture in over 5 months! this is conifer forest and boasts a large tourist community, the people there have no fire sence at all, they dump ashes in the yard the morning after they had a fire in the fireplace, the night before, already had several small fires

We're supposed to get some of that rain here in VA on Tuesday, and we need it. Hasn't rained here this month. I've got the potatoes, peas, cabbage & onions in & they really could use the rain. I'm sure the real farmers can use it on the grain crop as well.

We've got about 3" so far in The Colony, north of Big D. Sounds like you guys got quite a bit more.

I'll have to check w/ Mom, see how much the farm got(100 mi. further north).

I dumped the rain gauge after it topped out at 6"+ @ 2:00 pm. It's 7 now and still raining. Midlothian, Tx. @ 25 miles south of Dallas. It's a good thing it's supposed to blow hard tomorrow to help dry up.

Wow! Well, that's sure Texas all over! I'm glad you were smart enough not to drive through the flooded spots. We get satellite outtage with too much snow instead of rain. We make the person whose house it's hooked into go out with a broom and sweep off the dish! LOL

Dawn, pour some Rain-X on that dish and the snow will stop sticking to it and also the rain will not bother it as much.

Rain-X is a brand of wind shield wiper fluid. Any good auto parts store should have it and or wal-mart etc.

Rain-X will be in the same area as the windshield wiper blades and windshield washer fluid.
