8N clutch won't disengage

When I parked my 8N last Fall, the clutch and transmission worked fine; however, when I started it today the clutch would not disengage.

I think the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate are stuck together from sitting for 5 months and just need to be pried loose, but I'd prefer not to have to split the tractor in order to un-stick it. Any suggestions out there?

What old said, also if you can drive it in a cicle with your foot on the clutch , keep hitting your brakes, first one way then the other, it sounds crude but it works, after you get it freed just slipp the clutch a few times to reshine the flywheel, it will come free,,,,

believe it or not I never had a problem with any of my older tractors, but it happened to my newer tn55 early fall, and it wasnt sitting long,{a few weeks} had to do the circle thing, it finally popped and never had any more trouble, knocking wood, pat

This has been covered a few 100 times. Block the pedel down with a tie or cement block for a few days. If that doesn't help then start it in gear, I know not east to do but can be done. Or when its runnig at a low speed jam it in to gear the higher the better then keep the pedle down and drive it till it pops loose. Its a common problem with these tractor. Then when it pops loose always block the pedel down. Make sure you have a nice open place to drive it becasue till it pops loose there no stopping it.

Thanks Old and Pat. I'll try the tie-down first and then proceed with the other methods. I'm not a regular here, so I didn't know the problem was so common. I'll let you know how it goes.
