I'm installing an elenco conversion on a 1952 8n. I want to validate drive ratio to ensure compatibility between front axle and rear axle. I know I can change sprocket size on the chain that runs the transfer case or play with tire size to resolve issues but I would like to know if the 8n has the same rear ratio as the 600-800 series tractors. If so I should be close if I use the original tires and sprockets.

Thanks,
Steve

The owners manuals for both 8N and 600/800 say the following:

8N rear axle ratio: 6.66 to 1
600 rear axle ratio: 6.66 to 1
800 rear axle ratio: 7.17 to 1

Jim,
Thanks for your response. Based on the details you provided there must have been different elenco ratio's unless the tire sizes were different between the 600's and the 800's. I was hoping they were all the same. Thanks again ..... .

I don't know about the details and specs for Elenco parts, but I do know the 600 and 800 rear ends were different. The 800 rear is visibly larger than the 600.

Have you talked to Tony Jacobs? He's the man when it comes to Elenco. He bought out the remains of the company when they went out of business. I have his email somewhere. If you want to contact him, send me an email.
