In reponse to my post 2 days ago there was a discussion of limiter chains. Claim was there were even directions in the box. Now the question pops up, Where do you buy the box?

Also where do the pins to attach the mower to the 3 point come from.

As you can tell I know almost nothing about hooking up things to an 8N so thanks for bearing with me. I would just hate to be missing something and unable to play with the new toy :-)

Here's the paper that came with the chains I got, which I am very happy with.

FLAcharlie,

I am curious, what do you have the lower part of you chains hooked too? Are they on the lift ares of on the bolt running through the stabilizer bars?

I was going to build a set myself this weekend and was just curious on how yous worked since mose of the pics I have seen had them bolted to the mover deck. I woould think having a less severe angle on the chains would make them more accurate in keeping level.

Thanks,

Paul

yes, same bolt as stabilizer bar, as per drawing in the instructions that came with them. only issue I had was that on one side, having the limiter chain piece in there too left little room for the regular lynch pin, I had to use a large cotter pin, which seems OK. Didn't have the problem on the other side for some reason.

You can get the pins to attach your mower to the 3 point at any tractor supply house. I think they are called "Lincoln Pins" sometimes 10 for a dollar.
