Well I finally started to work on the 2N today. I even got it to run for a little bit but the points can't be adjusted as they should be. No mattr what I do I can't get the gap wide enough for them to work right. Is that a point problem or a distutor problem?? I would have pulled the dist from a 9N but it started to rain so I came in the house instead.

convert to the pertronix module and you'll never need worry again.

I have had problems with some TISCO points. The set marked Part#ATK6FFR seems to work OK but the set marked Part#APNI2000ABSR has had a problem with wearing down very quickly or not being able to adjust open far enough as you discribed. Check to see which set you have. It may be a function of who makes them. I do not know why there are different numbers. They both look the same to me. Also if the bushing in the distributor is badly worn you will have a problem making the adjustment. Check for shaft wobble.

There have been reports of such trouble with "offshore" manufactured points being made a bit wrong, so the gap can't be set correctly.

They must be REALLY off, if you can't get the points set to the (narrow) .015" gap!

Yep there very bad. You can open them up enough if and only if you remove the one screw that holds the points down.

Sounds like the rubbing block on the points is worn off..
