Can someone tell me what the standard length is for the 2N lift arms?? Mine seem kinda short. I have a bush hog that was used on 8n, worked fine. On my 2N, When I try to lift it, it jams into the tires. The arms on my 2N measure 29 1/2"
Also , my desert rat starts and runs fine. (kinda smokes), but once it warms up, and I shut it off, it will not start until it cools off. Anyone tell my why???

Thanks for the replys. The ol" n doesn't diesel, It runs great until I shut it down, at which point it just stops like it should. Then it will crank and crank but will not start. Hum, vapor lock, What do I do about that? Also my lift arms are 29 1/2" end to end, not center to center. That makes them REAL short. They don't appear to be after market but the bottom ball ends have been welded on. Must have been shortened for some reason. Tires are 11.2x28. I modified the mower so I can use it. No big deal, but I will get the proper arms as soon as.

Actually original lift arms holes were very close to 32' C-C. Looks like you have shorter replacement arms, oversized tires would also contribute to the problem.

Richard..... ...you are talking about the 3-point ball-jointed lower lift arms from the diffy, arn't you? p/n 9N-555 (r/h) and p/n 9N-556 (l/h) According to my N-Parts MPC they fit 1939-1953 (all). And according to my commercial parts catalog, they are 31-1/2 center-to-center. They also fit the Massy Fergusons too. ($50, cheap)

You do know that your 2N's rear tires width spacing is adjustable just like yer 8N's rear tire width, don't you? (48-76", 52" is standard) And iff'n yer brushhogg is bumpin' into the reartires, just widen out yer reartire width by 1-adjustment (4"). Consult yer owners manual or the I&T FO-4 for tire width adjusting proceedures. Simple, eh?..... ...Dell

Does it keep running smoothly? Or is it sorta "diesel-ing"? If the latter, ...then the idle speed is set too high.

Next time it won't start.. bypass the key switch... if that helps then repalce wireing or switch. ( could also be coil.. or other bad wire inthe harness / dirty connections.

Clean-bright-tight.. only way to get er' done on 6v.

Coil maybe getting weak and or a vapor lock cased by the fuel line being to hot.
