I recently rebuilt MS carb did all the adjustments I was supposed to do. Idles fine when cold but when warmed up I go to move the throttle lever just a little and it speeds up quite a bit. I have never rebuilt the governor could this be a worn out governor? Thanks in advance.

Odie..... ..yeah, could very well be worn governor. Check yer governor response by HAND (it won't hurt you). grab yer carb-to-governor rod and "jazz" yer engine for more rpms. Does yer governor immeadiately "fight you"? Governors gitt grooves worn in their tapered races and their balls gitt flat-spotted. Both make for sticky governor responses.

Gonnna assume yer carb throttle is connected to the governors "short" lever arm and yer governor's LONG lever is connected back to yer dashboard throttle lever.

Rebuilding governors is NOT ROCKETT SCIENCE. Infact rockets have governors on their fuelpumps. Gitt outt yer I&T FO-4 manual and read about it. Parts to rebuild yer governor is about $50, summbuddys elses already rebuilt governor $250. Yer call..... ...Dell

Maybe you have a vacuum leak where the throttle shaft enters the carb.
