My '52 runs great for the first 10-15 minutes, then it start to cut out like it is out of fuel. It shuts down and will restart and run great again after sitting for a few minutes. Something is going on, but I don't know what. West/Central GA

Alan..... ....there are 4-common runtime issues with N-Tractors.

1) runs for about 1-min and quits; restarts in about 5-mins; bad condenser
NOT yer stated problem
2) runs for about 5-min and quits; restarts in about 5-mins; clogged fuel filters
NOT yer stated problem
3) runs for about 1-hr and quits; restarts after overnite cooldown; bad ignition coil
NOT yer stated problem
4) runs for about 15-min and quits; restarts after about 15-min cooldown; Sound like yer problem?

Gunked-up ignition coil guttz. While you can verify this by using a pre-made jumper wire with alligator clippies and by-pass yer ignition switch when yer engine quits the next time. Why bother? Do I haffta tell ya to replace yer weaksister ignition switch? ($10, cheap)..... ....Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

My '47 2N did this for a while. It was from crud in the fuel tank restricting the fuel through the screen. After it sat a few minutes, enough fuel would get through to allow it to run again, but then it wouldn't be satisfied with the limited about of fuel.

Try what Bruce says and also you may have a fuel problem. I'd check for spark when it dies. If you don't have spark it could well be the switch. But if you have spark pull the drian plug from the bottom of the carb and make sure you have a good flow of gas for say 5 minutes or so. You could also have a coil going bad but not as likely as the other 2 things

I assume this is a 6v w/ OEM parts.....if so, the next time it happens, put two alligator clips on a piece of wire & jump the ignition switch.
