I have been bush-hogging with my 8n lately, pretty heavy stuff. I check the fuild about two weeks ago.It was a nice goldden color. I checked it a couple of days ago and it was a milkly looking color and it seem kind of thin for it would drip off the dip stick pretty fast.(it felt like 30 weight oil)The only thing I can think of,is the last couple of times I greased the PTO grease fitting,I used the light color grease. I wondering what has hadden? I going to change the fuild before I use the Tractor again. I thought, water might have gotten into the system but the mikly fuild still feels like oil and smells like peanuts. I would love ya"ll input on this.

Doggie..... ...yer PTO greasin' ain't gott 'nuttin' to do with yer water contaminated hydro-tranny oil. Congrats, you have just discovered the effect of mixing water and oil in highspeed mixer. Gearo-naise. (grin)

Heres the deal. water is gittin' in yer 5-gals of hydro-tranny oil thru yer cracked and leaking rubber tranny shifter boot. ($5, cheap)

Or...putta white 5-gal buckett over yer tranny shifter lever.

Tip: boil yer new tranny boot to make it soft and it will stretch over everything. Turn it inside-out before you start sliding it down the tranny shifter. Simple, eh?..... ....Dell

The tractor has been kept outside but with a tarp over it. To me it would take a lot of water to change the color of five gals. of fuild. and I don't see water in the fuild.

Red, Dell is right about it being water in the system...water, oil and pressure will turn that oil-water combo into a milky looking substance...come winter that could pretty costly if not fixed..... .mike

Milky fluid most of the time means water in the system. Water gets in by condensation or you park it out side and it rained and has leaked down and in by the shifter
