Anyone know how much anti-freeze and water per tire on a MF255. Tried to use mine with the new tires after having to replace them after the kid slashed them and bounced me to death. Also, quite a bit of slippage too. I really liked the filled tires and this is the tillage tractor I use.

I pull a 3x14 moldboard plow and a 10 foot JD disk with it. With the disk in the plowed ground it would work you to death trying to straighten it. Bounced me all over the place.

As Dell says " an air cushion" is all that is required. Normal fill is at the 10 / 2 o'clock position. When I first got my '53-60 J.D. I had to drive it down the hwy. about 20 mi., well, boy howdy!! it had (still has) different sized tires on the back, for the first 2 mi. it was like riding a buckin' bronc (yep BTDT), then every thing got 'in sync' (not the boy band), and the rest of the trip was like driving a Cadillac/water bed at a whopping 11MPH !! A 20-mile drive at 11 miles an hour must have been very scenic! :-)

16.9 X 28 is the standard tire and I believe they are standard. I don't have the tractor here where I can go out and look right now. I'm pretty sure that's it.

I can't say for sure, but my 13.6 - 28 tire takes 38 gallons. I would think your tire would take more.

You could fill it with the valve stem at about 2 o'clock and stop when it leaks back out. That puts the fluid level up to about the top of the rim leaving the area at the top of the tire for air.

Jerry..... ..don't really matter what yer tire size is. Fill to where it just covers the inner ring of the tube/rim so water don't slosh as you drive it. Try tappin' the sides of the filling tire, and listenin' to where it changes from a thunk (water) to a ring (air). Again, water fill ain't rockett science. Iff'n calculated to be 32.78 gals (example) ain't important; 30 or 31 or 32 or 33 or 34 or 35 is probably close-enuff. You want an air-chamber at about 12-psi to cushion yer tire-cords and yer butt-buckett so 'nuttin' breaks..... ...Dell
