How to get my 8N clutch unstuck???

My 8N sat for some time and now the clutch is stuck engaged. The peddle travel is fine and I can feel the pressure plate resistance. Just rust from sitting. I bypassed the safety switch and started him in 1st then tried 3rd a few times while rolling. "Henry" jumped up and traveled but I can't get it to slip one bit. I stood on the clutch and tried to go fast then slow down, no slip.I am thinking about connecting the bush hog an seeing if the extra load on the PTO will help.(Not too easy to hook up with no clutch!)

Any tips from you "N-Masters"???

I recall a post about this from John tOTG - in fact I bought one of those tractors, and the clutch is still working just fine.

Hi Rasputen
You have already got some good advice and you have already tried what normally does it. Try the bush hog, it just takes a little time. If all else fails, do like I had to do. After 4 hours of riding around up hill, down hill, over ditches, and anything else I could, I even plowed some in the pasture, then - I gave up. Then I got serious, blocked it up, pulled the hood and broke it in half, took a big screwdriver and a hammer and hit the clutch plate one time and - presto - it came unstuck.
Good Luck With it.

I got lucky once by blocking the rear tires in first gear; having someone hold the clutch down; and using a 3/4 ratchet on the crank pulley. I can imagine a lot of things you could break this way so I wouldn't use a cheater. Seemed like the shock is what did it.

Your mileage may vary

Block down the clutch...put her in fourth and rock the begeezes out of her by grabbing onto the rear tires...back and fourth a few times should do it and a friend on the other side will help too...
