MY 1952 8N WILL NOT START (12 VOLT) WITH INGITION SWITCH ON I GET NO RESPONCE WHEN THE STARTER BUTTON IS PUSHED. STARTER HAS JUST BEEN OVERHAULED
NEW SOLENOID,GOOD BATTERY,NEW BATTERY CABLES. WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS I COULD HERE A CLICKING IN THE SOLENOID

If the battery is good, and you cannot hear the starter relay click, then you may have the wrong relay. (automotive type). Do you have the three terminal with the smaller stud in the back? If yes, then take a jumper wire and attach it to the smaller terminal in the back and ground. Make sure that the tractor is in neutral. If it now starts, then you hace either a faulty switch or wire to the switch. If you still do not hear a click, then the battery and or ground lead is not making a connection. If you hear a click but the starter will not turn the engine over,then you may have the starter stuck, engine stuck or low battery.

replaced switch, the starter works, now i do not have fire at the spark plugs.when i replaced the switch i replaced it with one that did away with the starter button, is there anyway that i could have wired it wrong so as not to get fire.

Do you have current to your coil? Check that first and if you don't trace back from the coil through the resistors and back to your switch.
Let us know what you find.
Is this 6 or 12 V? front or side mount coil?
