hook the 3 point draw bar to the front of a Massey Hassis 30 and try to pick the front end off the ground with a 2N/9N tractor. I'm doing this just to see what you guy think would happen I just did it a little while ago. Also the 2N/9N doesn't have the hood or gas tank on it yet, running it from a 1QT gas tank. Also the MH 30 has only one front tire on it and no hood or grill. So what do you guy think happened. I'll post back after I have a few answers to let you know what did happen

Even though I own a 2-n, I have never tried to lift the front of a 30 massey harris. I am with Hank ABAB on this one. I think that is what my tractor would do. For the last 50 years my relief valve will go off just before the front end comes off the ground. The front is very light but does not lift off. I am still with Hank on this one. Of course maybe your 30 has a very light front end?????

Someone a few pages back offered these numbers. Chain the front end of an N down and it will lift about 1200 lbs before relief valve opens. Don't chain it down and the front end will come off the ground with 750 lbs. That doesn't answer your question as I don't know how much weight is involved.

I am guessing you lifted it up. Hooked up short makes a difference.

Nothing happened. The 9N hydraulics likely started squealing when it tried to lift, and the drawbar sits at a constant level unable to lift any further - depends on the condition of the 9N hydraulics and relief valve though.

Just my guess/opinion.
