I recieved my ORC today, female 1 1/8" to male 1 3/8", for my 1947 8N but am confused on how to connect it. Does it slide up into the PTO retainer clear to the lip? How much clearance to leave? Is there room inside the female threads of the cap? Or does it go on the implement end of the shaft? If thats the case I will need to get one that is 1 3/8" on both ends.

WHAT, it didn't come with instructions???

The PTO shaft should have a small hole though it.
The ORC will have 2 grease zerks or plugs across from each other. You need to align the hole in the inner "guts" of the ORC with the zerk holes, then install the ORC onto the PTO shaft until the zerk holes, the hole in the ORC's inner guts, and the PTO shaft all align, and then install the "roll pin" that should be included with the ORC.

OK, I lined up the holes on the PTO shaft and the ORC. The big end of the ORC is in two diameters. The smaller one slides into where the cap threads are. It is not tight but they are close. Then about one inch back the ORC becomes larger and fits right up against the PTO housing where the cap would go on. Is this normal or is my PTO shaft too short?

Rick, this is the way it is, as long as it doesn't touch.
