My Son-in-law has a 2N that will only start if you spray starter fluid in the air intake at the carb. It will continue to run as long as you spray. Have changed gas, Sprayed Gumout thru carb. Not sure how the Gov controls fuel flow and a couple times it would start only to stall right away. (2-3 sec) Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you get gas out the bottom of the carb if you remove the drain plug?? If you don't have a good steady flow there then take the fuel line loose from the carb and make sur you have gas there. If you have gas there but not from the drain plug check the filter in the elbow at the carb. It could be clogged. If it isn't clogged you probably have a stuck float. Tap on the side of the carb and the float might pop loose. If it doesn't then you will need to open up the arb and rebuild it. If you do have a good stead flow of gas out the drain plug hold your hand over the end of the carb and turn the engine over. Some times doing that will unclog the carb and make it run somes times it doesn't work

Think you got a port, passage, little bitty hole plugged in carb. Remove idle jet after counting turns from full closed carefully. Spray carb cleaner and let sit all day if you can. Then blow thru with low pressure air about 25 lbs. Do this with main jet too. May have to disassmble if his don't help and push littl tiny wirs through all holes Don't break wire off in hole. Soak in cleaner and try her again.
