Once agin, Dell's right on target. I was shredding this very weekend, and had to lift the hog to extricate a wad of chain link fence; if I ever see the schmuck who threw the fence out into the middle of the lot, I'm gonna punch him in the nose. But I digress. The 'blades' look more like hammers than axes; they obviously do a lot more smashing than cutting. I hadn't thought of the 'punji stick' problem with sharp blades though. I just know I hit every dang rock and high spot out there; any time spent sharpening would be negated after a couple minutes hogging. And even in their dull state, they seem to cut high grass pretty well.

FYI: yes, I propped the shredder up with a log before getting under it with the pliers and bolt cutters. Took ten minutes of cutting, prying and swearing to get all the fence out.

Happy Tractoring!

Roy..... ...iff'n yer brushhog blades are like mine, leave the "notches". Ya ain't tryin' to "shave" with them. Infact, too sharp is "bad"; why? 'cuz a sharp blade will slice-off small woody plant stems into sharp tire puncturing stubs. Can you say "flat-tire"? Shattered is more desirable. A slightly "rounded" edge (1/16" radius?) is the sharpening goal.

Remember, EYE PROTECTION and block-up yer brushhog before you lay on the ground underneath with yer 4-1/2" angle grinder..... ....Dell, yer self-appointed safety-preacher
