We got a free three level water feature for our backyard pond. With our pump it works great!! This is one of the solid concrete fountain molded to look like rocks. It has a couple of hairline cracks in one of the catch areas that leaks. I am thinking here that I can paint the inside of that bowl area with varatane (sp?) and seal it.

Got any comments on that? Says on can you can use of concrete.

Will let you know outcome, it is a nice feature and I can even hear it with my bad ears! :-)

Funny you should mention this, I had the EXACT SAME problem with a fountain in my back yard. I did not have any luck with any "paint on" sealers. What I ended up doing was to get a large piece (my fountain was large) of colored (light blue) rubber membrain and overlay it with a rubber membrain adhesive to the bottom of my fountain. This took care of the problem and also made the water look much nicer with the blue coloring. Good luck Gregg

I would seal it with something like Drylock or Damtite before the sealer you are talking about. Drylock and damtite will expand in the crack a bit and give a better seal. I used Drylock in my basement and it has stopped all the leaks in the foundation.

I, too, am a big believer in DryLok. If it is a very large crack, use DryLok Plug first, otherwise I use the oil base DryLok. It has never disappointed me. Get it at Home Depot.
