I'm installing new head studs on my 48' 8N while I'm waiting for the head to return from having a crack welded. Two of the studs are about 1/8" longer than the others. Can someone tell me which holes get the longer studs? If you could let me know according to the torque sequence on page 26 of the FO-4 manual it would help a lot. I'd measure the head but I don't have it and, the parts manual doesn't say. Appreciate the help.

The various versions of the FO-4 vary in total pages and what's on each page. My (probably older) version doesn't correspond to your's.

ANYHOW, IIRC, the two slightly longer studs go at the locations where the spark plug wire guide tube's 2 mounting tabs attach.

Thanks Bob. I forgot all about the spark wire tube. Thanks for your help.
