I stopped by Tractor Supply today to check on some oil.
I was looking for a gallon of 90wt gl-1 gear oil.
All they had was Traveller brand, $23.99 for a 2 gallon jug.
I was in shock. $12 per gallon for this stuff?

Can I get this stuff cheaper at Napa or somewhere?
What is the part number for Napa (1 gallon or so).
I have the part number for 5 gallons from Napa.

Thanks.

He" right. TSC in my area -2 of them- selling 2 gal of 90wt for 24.99. 5 gal is $55. That is why I used 80/90 for $22/5gal from auto parts store.

Pooh:

Lubricant prices have come down quite a bit since the big run up last year after hurricane Katrina. Unfortunately, TSC has not followed this trend and is presently one of the more expensive places to buy oils.

The three TSCs in my area (SW OH) all have GL-1 priced at nearly $50 per 5 gallon pail but my other local farm store has it for $29.99 (presently sale priced at $26.99).

Apparently, TSC prices differently in different regions, explaining the different prices that others have seen.

He is right on the price. At TSC Muncie, IN it was same as 24.00 for 2 gallon. I paid $67.50 for 5 gal at a wholsaler my company deals with.

Pooh - you saw the price for the 5 gallon pail - not the 2 gallon jug. The two gallon jug runs around $13.99. I buy this stuff quite a bit at TSC, so almost have the prices memorized :-)

Nope, it was for the two gallon jug.
I checked the UPC numbers on both the price and the jug.
They matched. My wife was with me and she checked too.
I couldn"t find any 5 gallon pails of the stuff there.

I'd say that is a store mistake... The 4 stores withing 15 miles of my house all have the 5g pails of the 'ford' 90wt fluid.. and all the stores are either 23/25 bucks for the 5g pail.

I last bought some a month ago.

I remember you posting about it a while back.
That is why I was so shocked at the price.
I just wasn"t expecting that.

I have to drive past there on Sunday.
I will stop again and this time ask about it.
