I have a 39' 9N , front mount, (3)-wire gen. and was wondering how to hook up the ammeter. The ammeter is a double post. Do I hook 1 lead to VR and the other lead to resister post?

I think my wiring is a mixture of a 9n and 8n. Mix bread I guess. Any help would be great.

I do have a FoRD manual but, my wiring system is different than what's in the book.

Basically, all loads + charge line need to go on one post, and then the battery on the other post, electrically speaking.. that way you have net charge / discharge shown. if the meter reads backwards.. swap posts.

So.. depending on how hacked and slashed your wireing is.. you could have one post wired to the hot side of the start switch mounted on the clutch/steering column, and all other lines.. like power to resistor, charge line from cutout, and lines to lamp switches from this other post.

Would be great if you went back to oem wireing before you added the new ammeter.. then take the line for the loop ammeter... cut it, and attach it to the new post style ammeter.. etc.
