Change to 134D a good idea?

I was thinking of changing the trans-hydraulic fluid in my '51 8N this weekend. I was going to get the 134D from my NH dealer. Here's my concern. Will the 134D find leaks that 90 wt mineral oil wouldn't? I don't want to fix what's not broken. The hitch works OK, but not great and there are no leaks at all now. So far, I have not been able to find GL1 90 wt. What would you do? Wait to find GL1, go with 134D or leave it alone?

I just changed the oil in the trans/hydraulic recently and used the M2C134D oil. This oil is almost as thick as the 80-90W. Have not had any leaks other than the leak at the starter switch which was already leaking.
The hydraulics which were sluggish with the 80-90W showed a marked improvement in both speed of lift and lifting ability. This was in a 51 8N.

Well, my response will confuse the whole thing because it's just the opposite of RB's. I changed to #134 and had problems. Specifically, when the hydraulics got really hot when used in the summer, the #134 thinned out too much and the lift got to the point where it would only go up a little no matter how much the engine revved. The NH dealer suggested I put in Shell Dentax mineral oil Serv. grade gl-1 which they sold and whalah, no more problems. I think that if you are going to operate the tractor in the winter, go with #134, otherwise, stick with Henry's recommedations and stay with 80-90 wt. My $.02

NEW HOLLAND 134 fluid is too thin, aprox 20w.For a good fluid use MASSEY 1103 90w. I sell it for all the old "N's" and have no complaints.
