I have overhauled my 8N Engine with a complete Kit. My question is, my gasket kit has 4 rubber (Flat) o-rings seals about the size of a quarter. What are these seals for????

Well they put them on at the factory 50 some years ago for some reason but there is none on the exhaust side,I won't hurt without them, you may burn a little oil until it gets sealed up with deposits, you would probably not notice the that much oil being burned.

No, They go in the groove on the guide itself about 3/4" down from the top of the guide.

They are the seals for the intake valve guides.

Nova-

As far as I know, these are some kind of seal for the valves. You don't need them. I had my valve train put in by a pro (38 yrs on ford tractors) and he didn't use them on mine.

I'm sure one of the experts on this great board will go into more detail.
